Radiation Monitor Systems
These systems are specifically planed for the detection of contamination from radioactivity in cargos of ferrous materials.
They are constituted from gates of great dimensions, equipped of electronic unit for the automatic survey.
These systems are installed near the main marine and earthly customs crosses.
The electronic units are essentially ' y radiations detectors, much efficient in order to find contaminations from isotopes of cobalt (Co) and cesium (Cs).
Currently, following the 11 september 2001, it can be useful to find others contaminations, of heavy materials which uranio (U) and plutonio (Pu).
These materials can have direct ' y emissions much low or difficult to find, but they emit instead thermal neutrons.
To such scope it is in state of completion the planning of a detector multisensor, where beside the traditional electronic ' y unit there are particularly sensitive detectors to neutrons: electronic ' y unit loads with Boro or proportional gas detectors bases on 2He3.
Between the options previewed for the new detectors, in order to facilitate the transit practices and at the same time to document the verification, it is possible to add a vision system with automatic acknowledgment of the vehicle plate.
The photo of the transit and the number of plate can therefore be print on the same checking document.
Always in the field of the detection anti-terrorism, they are to the study explosive and chemical agents detection technique.
The target is to carry in environment subject to possible attacks the same techniques of detection and analyses currently available in laboratory.
This to the double scope to prevent, if possible, the attack and however to supply precise indications during the attack to rescue operations and decontamination teams.
